I have had a secret plan I have been working on and I am just about done. Well you know that as Angel Mama I am in charge of the plans in the house for example social, safety etc. Which in itself a pretty extensive job and you can never be too cautious, as every planner has I have my advisory committee . Not that I don't take to heart all your wonderful suggestions as my friends so if you have any please leave them for me.
Well I try to be cautious about my family as every good mama is but well my darling husband commutes a lot and was away for training and I have wanted to surprise him. Now that he is on his way home, h*o*m*e*l*a*n*d security let me disclose..LOL This year has been tough as all of our weekends are filled with getting things ready for the week ahead I make all his meals when he commutes, snacks etc for the week and we try to spend time with the kids making our own Angel Mama's Chuckie Nights etc. and we haven't had very much of relaxing time. So... I have decided to build a retreat. No for you inquiring minds not out of cardboard though I have made a time machine, bear machine , and a pretty mean play house. Sorry back on track...
A retreat for Angel Daddy and me. I have wanted my bedroom to look like a bed and breakfast. I did get a wonderful cameo antique bed at an auction last year ( yes when I won I danced and screamed as all the dealers stared, and laughed...oh who cares I got the bed and thats all that matters..when will I ever see those people again..um ok every auction since but they always wink and ask how I like the bed ), a fireplace in the room etc. But at times my room became the catch all. Well no more I have organized , put a sweet couch, marble table and chairs, and even made chocolate. I am trying to get it all finished before he comes home so we can have breakfast there in the morning. So I am really excited.
I am going to put some of our barbecue recipes , cake and a quiche up today hope you enjoy.

Housekkeeping and Gardening At The House of Love On Cloud Nine

Dear Friends,

This morning I got up real early, crawled out of bed and had a wonderful walk around the track with a dear friend. It was so quiet and the day was just beginning for so many. I saw the regular walkers, joggers, bike riders and we secretly smiled and waved as we passed. Each knowing the pleasure of time for ourselves.
As I walked in the door an overwhelming sense of peace filled me. For the past few weeks I have been sorting through things no longer needed, organizing , spring cleaning and well making a mess. You know the kind, the mess you need to do before everything is organized. In order to do the closets right, the office, etc. I needed to take everything out. Wipe down the closet shelves , floors, wash comforters, pack up the rest of the winter clothes put things in a pile I didn't want go back drag them out you know the process.
Now I can honestly say how wonderful. The flowers are growing , the herbs are in the herb garden and pots, the winter clothes packed away, floors scrubbed and everything is organized. Yes I have a daily to do list, weekly organizing for the family, and we do semi OAMC, but this work was the major tasks that needed done.
The Yard well that is a whole other story. When I moved here I wanted no pesticides at all ( yes we were from California why are you asking), still don't but we had fleas our first year here. Oh bother , I gave the dogs garlic,planted penny royal well frankly nothing worked and I was beside my self . I found myself running into rural king asking anyone who would listen what to do. Well pesticides and chemicals kept coming up... so I gave my usual lecture why I didn't want those as people stared with that blank look.
Finally after weeks of dealing with this, I ran like I was in a shopping contest scooping up pellets, chemical shampoos the works..100.00 later , sweating I began flinging the stuff in the yard like I was dancing. One two three fling as the neighbors all stared. Especially the ones who told me to get these lovely products 3 weeks ago. Smiling, waving and flinging I was singing I am going to get you. The church gardener called over to see if I was ok... "yes Herb thanks for asking do you need any pellets"? I yelled over still flinging. Now fast forward to this year, still against pesticides I planted penny royal , have given garlic and ran to the store and got my pellets to fling. This time Angel Daddy suggested to buy a spreader oh well sure lets spread the love. Then I went to the front yard and started pulling out the weeds ( dandelion) with a little shovel and asked the boys and my husband to help. As they stared I explained I didn't want to use the spray like everyone else as it is not good for us.

I know I have recipes , pictures of the house to post and well maybe as a bonus package to the first hundred customers ..oops sorry that is the phone companies lingo...post the wonderful recipe my friend Traci told me about using dandelions . Oh I do hope the dogs didn't pee on them. Oh joy never mind ..I am off to get my poster that says" deadly chemicals sprayed here" and maybe the neighbor dogs will be walked on the other side of the street.

Tackle It Tuesday~ April 17,2007

Dear Fellow Queens of the Castles,

Well here it is Tuesday and I have been working the weekend on organizing the office/ studio as a complete over haul..LOL I have every kind of organizer you could think of and have had but now need to organize all the paper work , art supplies etc. I have some real neat magazine holders , file folders , wicker baskets, apocathary jars filled with all kinds of goodies. So that is what I will be tackling and framing a chalk board in an antique frame . I have pictures that I have been wanting to put up in the corners of my home and will start as soon as all these little projects everywhere get done... SO for now I am off to clean the palace ...Hope you all have a great day , enjoy your families and get your projects done.

Tackle It Tuesday~ April 10,2007

Dear Friends ,

I am jumping in to Tackle It Tuesday. I have been organizing closets, cleaning my front hall for Spring, putting winter clothes away ( Yeah!), organizing the pantry and rearranging my castle.
So dear fellow Queens may this day find you blessings , fun, love and organization ( ~smile~) in your lovely castles.

I am organizing my gift closet...Oh I have so many lovelies in there handmade and bought. There is some great smells of soaps and eye candy but really needs organized again....sigh~

I am organizing the clothes that no longer fit the boys to bless others, put the winter clothes away and get out spring~ Yeah~

I am organizing the office closet with :magazine holders, storage baskets , file folders and getting all the books and binders organized. Believe me it will be so nice to have accomplished.

I have a wonderful portico in the lovely Gothic Victorian I have and love using it in the Spring /Summer so I am cleaning the brick, washing the curtains, getting all the fountains and plants spruced up.

I will be stopping by and seeing all your projects.

As we only have so many minutes in the day I don't want to waste them not be organized , etc.

Pearl's Glamourous Times

Dear Gracious Friends,

Any of you that know me ....know I love vintage, furs, pearls, jewelry and glamour. Don't worry I never spent much on them but they are so glamorous. I have even had fellow artists at estate sales come up to me and give me furs saying "this is too pretty to make into a Teddy Bear so here is a gift from me". True great stylish friends...~smile~
Thanks Miss Kelly for the heads up and link to this fabulous video clip. I will be adding some pictures of my home and vintage furs etc....even if its Spring ... for you all someday.
I thought this clip was too cool.
Miss Pearl who designed the house I live in, wore these type of fashions. We have the documents of the house her husband the Dr. gave her for $1.00 and consideration of love. Isn't that so romantic??! It hangs on our wall ~ I have even used it to make a collage. That is one of the many reasons why this blog is titled"Pearls of Wisdom" , and our home is named the " House for $1.00 and Consideration of Love". My sweet husband did the same for me. Yes we are true romantics and old fashioned...LOL

In Our Home

Dear Friends,
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. We had a lovely time playing at the park with the kids, going to church feeding the ducks, getting our garden and containers ready, cooking of course and visiting with friends.
I am involved with a few book groups , swaps and making a donation to an auction as well as doing things in the house. So sorry have been busy.. I hope that this finds you all enjoying your daily blessings. I hope to catch up with you all this week.
I have a brick gathering room ( like a enclosed porch) that I have been working on this week.

Cleaning and Decorating Miss Pearl's Home~

I have found over the years my style has changed for decorating, hobbies and general interests . If you are like me you have found yourself with treasures you know longer love, need, or sigh....want.
I now live in a Gothic Brick Victorian that has a very ornate Victorian style. It was designed by a woman named Pearl to look like a European castle. With its arched windows, wooden floors, Gothic chandeliers and iron work it has been very charming and lovely to live in. But I have found some of my "treasures " don't quite fit or look right in. In simplifying my life , living in beauty , and realizing style is not about money. I have made not only my cleaning schedules, decorating folders, donation bags, a garage sale pile but a true picture of what I want and need in my life. I am busy organizing my office/studio, living room and pantry this week my friends and will have pictures.
I love my home immensely and would love to live here forever in my fairy tale home but know with my Dear husbands line of work that more in likely will change . In the mean time I want to live in the beauty of an organized sweetly decorated warm home. When we decide to simplify our lives, and send objects we no longer love to new places to live to people who will be blessed by them, we then make room in our lives for the new the Lord is blessing us with. So I will be going through my cleaning schedule this week , finishing more baking and enjoying my week. Enjoy yours my friends.
