I have had a secret plan I have been working on and I am just about done. Well you know that as Angel Mama I am in charge of the plans in the house for example social, safety etc. Which in itself a pretty extensive job and you can never be too cautious, as every planner has I have my advisory committee . Not that I don't take to heart all your wonderful suggestions as my friends so if you have any please leave them for me.
Well I try to be cautious about my family as every good mama is but well my darling husband commutes a lot and was away for training and I have wanted to surprise him. Now that he is on his way home, h*o*m*e*l*a*n*d security let me disclose..LOL This year has been tough as all of our weekends are filled with getting things ready for the week ahead I make all his meals when he commutes, snacks etc for the week and we try to spend time with the kids making our own Angel Mama's Chuckie Nights etc. and we haven't had very much of relaxing time. So... I have decided to build a retreat. No for you inquiring minds not out of cardboard though I have made a time machine, bear machine , and a pretty mean play house. Sorry back on track...
A retreat for Angel Daddy and me. I have wanted my bedroom to look like a bed and breakfast. I did get a wonderful cameo antique bed at an auction last year ( yes when I won I danced and screamed as all the dealers stared, and laughed...oh who cares I got the bed and thats all that matters..when will I ever see those people again..um ok every auction since but they always wink and ask how I like the bed ), a fireplace in the room etc. But at times my room became the catch all. Well no more I have organized , put a sweet couch, marble table and chairs, and even made chocolate. I am trying to get it all finished before he comes home so we can have breakfast there in the morning. So I am really excited.
I am going to put some of our barbecue recipes , cake and a quiche up today hope you enjoy.

Happy Birthday~ Barbecue

Dear Friends,

I had a really lovely time this weekend with my family. My husband and the boys made a barbecue for my birthday. They prepared barbecue ribs, chicken, copy cat coleslaw, a pasta salad ( my favorite), such a feast!
I have been celebrating all week, with catching up with friends, some sweet creative projects and enjoying life.
Enjoy the weather, encourage each other and find a way to celebrate..... strawberries are out....LOL
I will load some pictures later of the wonderful dinner, sweet presents and mail I have received.

Sweet times with La Famiglia

Dear Friends,
This weekend was busy as usual..LOL!
We celebrated my precious Nick's birthday, he is growing so big and tall. He requested his favorite cake with chocolate icing, baked Ziti and garlic sticks. We enjoyed the wonderful time with him and Jon . Of course Dad had to take the boys out to play baseball with Nicks new glove. What a beautiful Spring day. I enjoyed looking around the garden area and seeing all the flowers starting to pop up.I think everyone here is finally starting to feel better.
I spent most of the day Saturday preparing semi OAMC courses. I tried to accommodate everyone's requests as you will see...~smile~ from the varied menu! The iron chef competition has nothing on me...~smile~ LOL.. Just to answer your question in advance if you are like my friend Mary ...."No I am not crazy to make all this .....! ( I am trying to answer this with a straight face...) just in love and trying to please all my men in the house. So the requests came in from Papa, the boys and yes Darling husbands co workers who I have decided to call my taste testers ( "Angel Mama's taste testers"). If you would like to apply for the position also I will let you check out my recipes, grade them and send you a box of treats once in awhile! I buried this to see if anyone reads my posts besides my Dear Friends Candi , Sweet Annie, Doris, Mrs Denita, Traci and my wonderful Aunt.....( hehe ) just teasing. If I get up to 10 readers a day I am sending my friend Candi a box of homemade chocolates for believing in me.... Oh will send anyway she is too sweet !But thanks girls for being such good friends....~smile ~ I love you ! Now as Sir Nick would say, "back to the story". SO once upon a time an Angel ( who lives at this virtual address) , put on a yellow apron , got out her request box, recipes and made:

Italian Roast Beef ( to slice for roast beef subs for Darling husband and infamous taste testers)

6 Dozen Cookies

Angel Mama's Carolina Pulled Pork

Angel Mama's Baked Ziti (with carrots famiglia secret to sneak veggies...LOL)

3 Loaves Whole Wheat banana bread ( By the way remind me to tell you of the wonderful wheat flour I found at Wally's World)

Two pizzas

Cheer Up Nicholas Day

Nicholas got to spend time with Dad sledding, then we had hot chocolate ,played games, and had roast chicken.

Special Family Times

Dear Friends,
Our family was really excited to be going to visit my Grandmother for her B day and all of our special relatives were going to be there!
Planning out trip there brought back so many good memories.When we were little my cousins and I had a GBC er's club. Meaning Grandma's Basement Club. All of us use to have so much fun making crafts, planning events, doing art work, playing board games and baking with each other and our Special Grandma. So we were so excited to go to see her , see everyone and have our Nicholas be part of his own GBC er's club now that there is a whole new membership...LOL But sadly due to the storms and weather we all had to cancel....
So we called Grandma instead . Grandma is a very special mother, grandmother, friend, sister in Christ and so much more to so many. She has a nick name which is Mimi but to Nicholas it is Grandmother. He was so disappointed to not see his cousins , Aunt who he calls his other grandmother , Great Grandmother, Nana and all that he was very sad and cried. So we set out to cheer him up. He has his favorite pictures on his desk ( of his sister, brothers, cousins, and Grandmother and him reading .....He wanted posted here) So now you can meet Grandmother too. She is a very special loving woman . Happy Birthday Mimi, and as Nicholas would say "Grandmother".
He was very worried about his cousins and the storm and wanted to see them . He has already begun planning a visit for spring and his mapping it out ...LOL
On cheer up Nicholas day we made blueberry muffins ( I have the recipe on here for you all ....enjoy~smile~), went sledding on our special hill, had hot chocolate , and played games ( yes board games and others ~smile~ did that date me.....?LOL) He did have fun and was able to spend special time with his Dad.His Dad has been real busy lately working so hard for us all so this did give them special time.
This morning we made orange scones a copy cat version of a famous coffee shop. They turned out excellent , . I will post the recipe .
Well we are off to play in the snow again and have hot chocolate . So hope you all have a great day.
