"Lower your expectations of earth. This isn't heaven, so don't expect it to be."
~ Max Lucado ~

Dear Friends,

Being sweet for a short period is easy for some, remaining sweet and caring can only truly be done by being a child of God. It is then true happiness , joy and grace enter into our lives. I have found over the years that the people who are truly happy are the ones who have discovered the Love of the Lord, his grace , mercy and unconditional love. Through him a new person and way is born.
Slowly discovering that happiness and love are within and the key to the heart is not in having the perfect life, house etc. but in living the experience as a spiritual person of God. With this knowledge we are set free to live our lives without all the expectations that the newest gadget or material things will solve our happiness.
I have always loved reading Max Lucado's work and his way of honoring the Lord. He puts it so simply and yet it is very hard for us all as we tend to get hurt here on earth seeing suffering, meanness and sometimes don't understand how some can do the things they do. People who are"of this world" make choices that hurt or humiliate others and are very useful to Satan to hurt and destroy. In remembering the above quote we need to be in prayer for ourselves and those we love as we live each day. Our relationships and lives will be much richer and happier by living through our Lord and releasing the need for perfection. Only heaven is perfection.

Thank you Iris for hosting this week.

Only in heaven is there perfection!

May you be blessed this week and always.

Christian Life~ Thankful Thursday May 24, 2007

Dear Friends,

Here in the early morning I am so thankful for my quiet time with the Lord. I enjoy my bible study early in the morning , then a walk as the sun is beginning to rise. It is so quiet and peaceful , the only sounds I hear are the birds outside my window.
As I started looking though my prayer journal I realized how God has been there, and answering each prayer for everyone, I had been praying for, according to his will. It also made me think about free will . Meaning that he gives us the choice to accept his love , grace, mercy, and help or go the other way. It is so wonderful in times of doubt or hurt he will put a Moses in our path, a friend that tells us to believe in the Lord, love him, worship him and move forward. Move past doubt, hurt and pain into his endless love, and grace. Speaking of friends I am so grateful for a dear friend Delores. Delores is such and inspiration to me. She is 90 , looks and acts 50 , still gardens, hosts teas and has shown me how to knit, be a prayer warrior, and be a great friend. She has shown me age is just a number, wonderful keeper of the home secrets and helped me make my own scent for perfume that smells wonderful.
I am so thankful in my times of needing a friend, prayer or love he has put people in my life that have been there for me. Divine intervention has helped me many of times, and I hope that I have been a help to others. He puts signs on our path everyday of the blessings that we have.
I am so thankful for the wonderful weekend I have planned with my family.
I am so thankful for all my friends , all of you who have inspired me and made me so grateful reading your blessings . Thank you for sharing and Iris for hosting this.

Thankful Thursday Blessings~ May 17,2007

Dear Friends,

I am thankful for the heavy envelope in the mail filled with money I received this week. There was no outside address so I didn't know why it was so heavy or what was in it. As I sat down with a cup of tea at my desk and opened the mail this one was first as it intrigued me. It was in a bright red envelope with the word Blessing on the back. Well when I opened it I had to smile it was from a very dear friend and former employee Christopher. Taped inside the card was lots of " cheer up nickels " and shiny pennies. He had put the saying a penny saved is a penny earned, and if you save it , it is a government oversight.LOL
When Christopher worked for me and I had one of those days where nothing went right or someone was sad he took their hand said a prayer, gave a hug and sent them to the beautiful fountain out front and told them to act like a child smile and throw money in the fountain. To see the joy well up in some people or have them say "yes the Lord is taking care of me but I must give the problem over to him and have faith ",was wonderful. For me I would slip our throw the money in and take my mind off all family, work or everyday worries for the moment. Christopher was the first at my door when I was sick with orange juice , or a card, and the one to help me load the moving van for my husband and I when we moved the first time. We still exchange cards, BDay cards, letters and cheer up and his usually have a trinket . I loved how he sent the as he called them cheer up magic nickels and pennies.
I am thankful for the Lord being in my families life, and his blessings.
I am thankful for Christopher and all my friends , and the new ones I meet everyday.
I am thankful for all of you who read and comment it is like finding a penny on the ground what joy at the blessing.
I am thankful for my wonderful husband and my children. I love each of them for their gifts, talent, and each in their own way. But I am especially grateful for the sweet devoted love of my Sir Nick who sang me a special Birthday and Mothers day song this year and thinks I am a hero no matter what I do , cook, bake or help him with. It makes my day.
Thanks to Iris for hosting this event.

Thankful Thursday ~ April 26,2007

Dear Friends,

What a wonderful weekend I had with my family recently and decided to dedicate my grateful heart and thankfulness this week to them.

I am so grateful to my husband for :

His steadiness and quiet reasonable approach to life in general . He is my rock and has a calm nature.

His sense of humor that we can laugh at life, with each other and be happy in the mist of our sorrows at times.

His generous nature and being willing to do anything for and with our children.

His being willing to work so hard , commute and still find the time to enjoy our family.

His ability to calm me down when I worry and pray for me when I am sick. Especially with my migraines.:)

My four wonderful blessings from the Lord.

I love all their different personalities and natures.

I love that they are all willing to try their best in whatever they do.

I am thankful for the fact they are willing to give the glory to the Lord our God.

I am thankful for their sense of humor and willingness to laugh and be there for each other.

I am thankful they think we are great parents and tell us that.

I am so thankful to all of your participating. You have helped me to be inspired , learn and praise God with you in your blessings.

I am so thankful for my friend Denise sending me sweet cards to uplift me this week.

I am thankful to Iris for hosting this Thankful event weekly.

10 Steps to Find Happiness, Grace and Inspriation In A Hurting World.

Dear Friends,

In the mist of our everyday lives sometimes we encounter situations that either make us hurt, uncomfortable, sad, lonely or even depressed. Being an empathetic person is a gift from the Lord that I am humbled with but makes me have to put things in perspective . Don't get me wrong I have had more then my share of those above mentioned situations also. Through some of my gifts of mercy etc. I feel and can sympathize with others pain as well. As I am sure most of you do. Is there things hurting you today or a family member? If you have answered yes then you know what I mean.
The ability to give your situation to the Lord is your key. Believing and trusting in him to give you the peace and answers you need. Sometimes the answers aren't what we want to hear but they are there all the same. The Lords words are the same today as thousands of years before. The Bible is not only the word of the Lord but your compass and answer to any situation you have.Keeping my eye on the Lord and not the problem has been the golden key for me.
God takes weaknesses and uses them to his glory. God has been doing this for thousands of years. Look to the story of Gideon in Judges Chapter 7. He chose the youngest person from the smallest family to deliver Israel.
Judges 7:9-15 During that night the LORD said to Gideon, “Get up, go down against the camp, because I am going to give it into your hands. If you are afraid to attack, go down to the camp with your servant Purah and listen to what they are saying. Afterward, you will be encouraged to attack the camp.” …Gideon arrived just as a man was telling a friend his dream. “I had a dream,” he was saying. “A round loaf of barley bread came tumbling into the Midianite camp. It struck the tent with such force that the tent overturned and collapsed.” His friend responded, “This can be nothing other than the sword of Gideon son of Joash, the Israelite. God has given the Midianites and the whole camp into his hands.” When Gideon heard the dream and its interpretation, he worshiped God.

*I know we have all heard to read the Bible and go to the Lord in prayer. In your situation go to the Lord in prayer.

*Make a list or devotional journal. In it write out your situation or that of someone you are praying for. Write the verses that come to you or others give you.

*Silently go to the Lord in prayer and faith. The faith to know that God is with you and has the answers you need.

*Give grace and find the good in every situation. Sometimes what we think we need, want, are not what God has planned for us. Later down the road we find out why and thank the Lord for unanswered prayers. That house , job, or situation we thought best might not have been in our best interests. When you pray you give the protection of the Lord over your family, situation and need. In doing that we sometimes need to accept answers we might not think we want.

*Help and bless others in doing so we bless ourselves and makes the situations in our lives seem smaller. You never know why that person, situation, friendship, or whatever was put in your life and what you can learn or teach others from it.

*Have a positive attitude! A negative , pessimistic person never discovered the
moon nor had the faith to make great accomplishments. You can chose how to react to the things in your life. That is where you have the ultimate control on how you will give grace, deal with a situation, be a person of influence. Chose to think positive and give grace. In the circle of life it will always come back in one form or another.

*Realize when you bless someone give with your heart ,no strings attached.

*Also realize the Lord will quietly let you know if you are a grace giver when he no longer wants a situation in your life and wants you to move on. If there is a situation in your life that no longer works, is not good for you or hurting you . The Lord might want you to pray and let it go. Shaking the dust off your feet and moving on in his grace and glory.

*Be happy within yourself. If you aren't find out why. There is only one you in the whole world and only you can do what the Lord has planned for you. Be authentic, be original, be loving, kind full of blessings and grace. Don't rely on others for your happiness . As we all know true happiness comes from with.

*Bless and encourage others, give grace and be happy.

Thankful Thursday April 12, 2007~ Ways to show Gratitude

Dear Friends,

When the Lord taught us to pray he gave us a comprehensive blueprint. His word. The requests deal with Gods glory. Praying for his will to be done provides a foundation for our prayers.

Thank you Father that you are good, and that your mercy is everlasting. (Psalm 100:5).

Thank you Lord that you are very compassionate and merciful. (James 5:11)

Thank you Father that every good and perfect gift is from above, and comes down from You, Father. (James 1:17)

I am so thankful to the Lord for blessing me with my wonderful husband. As the head of our household he leads our family on the path of righteousness . He is my protector, best friend and a super dad.

I am so thankful for the Lord blessing us with our 4 lovely children. They bring me joy daily.

We have a family mission statement , devotional notebook and I have a gratitude journal. These tools helps us stay focused on the Lord and his daily blessings.

We try to keep a supply of cards, notes, drawings from the kids we can bless others with .

I have realized that the time I put into cooking from scratch and baking blesses my family daily and shows my gratitude to my husband for his long hours . It also helps him on his commutes and blesses the co workers he shares with. We try to bake extra treats to bless others with during the week. I try to slip notes or pictures from the kids or me to brighten his day and show we care.

Encourage others this week and enjoy your blessings from the Lord.

I am grateful for all I am learning from the other participants of Thankful Thursday to see them go here

Good Friday - Matthew 27:27-54

Holy Saturday - Matthew 27:55-66

Easter Sunday- Matthew 28:1-20

Christ remained in the tomb on Friday and Saturday. On the third day, Sunday, He arose, just as He said. (Matt. 28:1-10; Mark 16:1-8; Luke 24:1-12; John 20:1-9)

Bible Study and Cup of Tea

Dear Friends ,
I have quite time studying the bible every morning. It has enriched and blessed my life beyond measure. Please join me for a cup of tea and a verse from our Lord .

Psalms 103:6-18

6 The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed. 7 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel. 8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. 9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. 10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. 11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. 12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. 13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. 14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. 15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. 16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more. 17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children; 18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

My wish for you is that you find the Peace, Joy and Love that the Lord has in his blessing for you.

In his endless love,

Angel Mama ():)
