In Other Words Tuesday~ May 29 2007

"Lower your expectations of earth. This isn't heaven, so don't expect it to be."
~ Max Lucado ~

Dear Friends,

Being sweet for a short period is easy for some, remaining sweet and caring can only truly be done by being a child of God. It is then true happiness , joy and grace enter into our lives. I have found over the years that the people who are truly happy are the ones who have discovered the Love of the Lord, his grace , mercy and unconditional love. Through him a new person and way is born.
Slowly discovering that happiness and love are within and the key to the heart is not in having the perfect life, house etc. but in living the experience as a spiritual person of God. With this knowledge we are set free to live our lives without all the expectations that the newest gadget or material things will solve our happiness.
I have always loved reading Max Lucado's work and his way of honoring the Lord. He puts it so simply and yet it is very hard for us all as we tend to get hurt here on earth seeing suffering, meanness and sometimes don't understand how some can do the things they do. People who are"of this world" make choices that hurt or humiliate others and are very useful to Satan to hurt and destroy. In remembering the above quote we need to be in prayer for ourselves and those we love as we live each day. Our relationships and lives will be much richer and happier by living through our Lord and releasing the need for perfection. Only heaven is perfection.

Thank you Iris for hosting this week.

Only in heaven is there perfection!

May you be blessed this week and always.

In his endless love,

Well said, it's not only the people "of this world" that hurt its those of the faith as well and you are so right to be in prayer and releasing the need for perfection!

"Only heaven is perfection"

That is so true. If we could only grasp that concept on Earth we would lead happier lives.

I said the same at Crystal's blog, but it needs to be repeated. How about on the overhead on Sunday! ;)

It's important to remember that where are heart is so is our treasure. The world tries to omit this truth from our hearts with such intensity through the noise of advertisement.

Blessings...

I was reading a blog the other day and jotted this on a sticky... to put next to my computer and convict me ~

"No prayer is complete unless it includes a petition to the Holy Spirit that He come to dwell in us."

I tend to pray for things or other people. Living the experience of a spiritual person of God... takes a lot of prayer. Thanks for the reminder to pray for ourselves ~

Oh, that is so true. We only can find true joy from Him and not the material things of this earth. His joy resides within us if we let Him.

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this week's IOW quote.

Blessings to you and yours.
